Project: This start-up was in the process of building a collection of sustainable wood-printed puzzles, the motifs of which are intended to raise awareness of environmental issues and nature conservation. Each motif is linked to a specific environmental organization, to which a portion of the profits is donated.
A project that was entirely in line with my values.
The first illustration, the ocean, was intended to serve as a test to see whether my work matched the client and his ideas. The result exceeded the client's expectations, so two more motifs followed.
The client wished the illustrations to contain as many details as possible to make discovering the scene more exciting while doing the puzzle. The idea was to depict the respective landscapes - ocean, forests, wildlife/savannah - in an idealized way to suggest what nature should and could be like if it were better protected.

The client decided to make the puzzles extra unique, by adding some special pieces that are shaped like some of the animals or plants in the design. Also, he added a few pieces in the shape of hazards to the environment, like a fishing net in the ocean puzzle, or a hunting rifle in the animal kingdom.
